Photocopy of a microfilmed copy of a typescript. The item is a one-page biography of John D. T. McAllister by an unknown author at an unspecified time. McAllister was born in Delaware on 19 Feb. 1827 and died on 21 Jan. 1910. He joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1844. He migrated to Utah in 1851, took several wives, and had numerous children. He served on two missions for his church, lived for a time in St. George, Utah, and held numerous positions of responsibility. Also included is another photocopy of a microfilmed copy of a typescript. This item is 8 pages long and was a biography of "William James Frazier McAllister," which was "written by his daugter-in-law, D. McAllistter." William was born in Delaware on 16 Aug. 1845. He joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1861, and he came to Utah in the same year. He had various jobs in Salt Lake City, Utah, and he served in Utah's Black Hawk War. William served in law enforcement, as a carpenter on the Mormon Tabernacle, and moved to St. George, Utah, in 1869. He later lived in Panaca, Nevada, but later returned to St. George. He had two wives and many children.
